MEET Reborn
A one-of-a-kind stainless steel Woolly Mammoth, built for indoor or outdoor use and standing 12 foot tall. He features hand blown glass eyes, heat treated metal to color him in silvers, golds, purples and blues and is filled with LED lights that shine through his wavy hairs when the sun lowers below the horizon.
Reborn captures the hearts of everyone who knows him. His stature is reverent; and energy grounding. He is the unique and a true, one-of-a-kind piece that cannot be reproduced or replicated.
why "Reborn"?

In 2024, when Burning Man announced their 2025 event theme, "Tomorrow, Today", Clinton scratched his brain at how "futuristic tech" could overlap with his love of building and creating animals. There was a podcast that Clinton listened to featuring a company, "Colossal BioSciences", that holds a passion for cloning and bringing back a Woolly Mammoth to Earth. There was Clinton's spark. A metal Woolly Mammoth named "Reborn" was to be welded to life, for our imaginations to be brought "back to the future". Reborn, was a 2025 Burning Man Honorarium Art Grant project and spent a week in the Black Rock Desert for event goers to enjoy. He has been featured in two additional art shows, one in Loveland, CO and another in Salt Lake City, UT. He attracts a crowd and is loved by all.
Maybe we will see a real woolly mammoth roaming our Earth once again someday?

Where has Reborn been?
August 2025

August + September 2025
SEPTEMBER 2025
May 2026
Reborn's first public appearance was at the Loveland Sculpture In The Park Show in Loveland, CO. Upon arrival, the local newspaper was snapping photos and interviewing Clinton. He was the star of the show!
Reborn's time to shine was in the dusty desert with 70,000 of our closest friends. We played, we got dirty and had a blast. We are grateful for all of the fans and friends we made while we were there.
After our return from Burning Man, Reborn and Clinton were featured on the local KBZK Montana News channel!
Reborn joined us at the inaugural Salt Lake Art Show in Salt Lake City, UT. It was great being in Utah Mammoth territory for the week!

How Was reborn made?
Reborn was brought to life in six months at Clinton's studio in Bozeman, Montana. Once the grant was accepted, Clinton began forming Reborn's body with stainless steel sheets and rods, cutting his hair and heat treating him for color. The entire build process is featured in these videos below.

Part ONe
Reborn was an exciting build. Watch the Part One video of making him here.

Hair
Reborn required thousands of hairs. Watch a video on how they are made right here!

TUSKS
Part Two
To build strength, I decided to twist the steel rods on the tusks. Check out this video!

Tail
This Mammoth comes apart in five pieces which includes the tail. Watch the making of it here.

Sculpture
in the park
Reborn's first public appearance was at the 2025 Sculpture in the Park art show in Loveland, CO. He was loved by many and I loved sharing him!

Part Two
Here you can watch Part Two of Reborn build in the studio.

FEET
Reborn feet were one of the most challenging parts of the build. Check out this video!

LIGHTS
One of the requirements of Burning Man art is that it must be lit up at night. I added more lights than the Jackalope!

TRUNK
The trunk was my favorite feature to build. You could almost "hold his hand".

MAMMOTH BREAKDOWN
Reborn comes apart in five pieces with the help of both man power and mechanical power. Here is a video of the breakdown after a fun week at Burning Man!

Part Three
Part Three of Reborn build videos! He has been my favorite project to date.

TUSKS
In order to support people interacting and sitting on his tusks, I had to enforce with extra steel.

HAIR
PARTs two + THREE
Here are videos that show how I layered all of the mammoth hair onto his frame.

TRUNK PART TWO
Part two of the trunk build is here. Lots of texture was added to the underside.

MAMMOTH PAINTING
Fun fact - Reborn inspired my first oil painting! A buddy gave me painting lessons and we hosted our first print drop together in December of 2025.
